Rachel Lindsay Says She Was ‘Overwhelmed’ By Bryan Abasolo’s Proposal

She added: “You have this ring on your finger, and there’s this man, and for the first time you’re riding in a car together, you’re going to the same hotel room together. It’s like this is the beginning of your new life.”

But Rachel made sure the two didn’t get married right away, insisting that they first live together and date, which she and Bryan did for two years before tying the knot in August 2019.

“It was great,” she said of the decision. “And I was like, ‘OK, I actually have a lot in common with him. We really fit together and I’m excited for what’s to come.’ ”

And despite the fact that their relationship “ran its course,” she’s grateful for the six-plus years she and Bryan, 44, have spent together.

“I learned a lot,” she said. “I had new experiences. I understood how I was living with someone, working in a partnership in a way that I had never done before.”

Rachel and Bryan announced their split in January, with Bryan writing on Instagram at the time that he had made the “difficult decision” to “separate ourselves and start over.”
