While we are very excited to take a look DisclaimerApple TV+ has made us even more curious to watch the new Alfonso Cuaron (Severity) series. Today the first trailer was revealed, showing the cast led by Cate Blanchett (Borderlands) AND Kevin Kline (A Fish Named Wanda) but doesn’t go into too much detail about the story, keeping it under wraps for now. In the series, Blanchett plays an investigative journalist who finds her world turned upside down and roles reversed when she becomes the subject of an investigation.

The first trailer for Disclaimersuggests something evil lurking in the story and in the characters who are certainly not living their best lives. Starting with Blanchett’s Catherine Ravenscroft, who finally gets a taste of her own medicine when her reputation is put at risk after an unknown author targets her (and her darkest secrets) as the subject of his novel. The series title glides quietly across the screen as we glimpse some intense scenes. A voice warns us of the danger of what we say and How our words can be turned into weaponswhich we can safely say is the central theme of the series.

The trailer also suggests that tension will only increase throughout all seven episodes of Disclaimerwith the characters that get pushed to the breaking point on several occasions. In Catherine’s case, her relationship with every member of her family will be put in jeopardy, which means the protagonist will have to take a hard look at her own life and confront all the immoral things she’s done in her career, all while trying to uncover the identity of the perpetrator who threatens to destroy her.

A part of the public already knows the details of Disclaimer because the series was adapted by Cuarón from the best-selling novel written by the author Renee KnightWhat makes it even more exciting is that Knight served as co-executive producer on the series, meaning that the spirit of the novel will be maintained in each episode and that any changes were likely approved by the author.

Disclaimer is a highly anticipated TV series not only for its intriguing themes but also for the names involved. This is the first project of the Oscar-winning Cuarón since 2018 Romeand will also be Kline’s television debut after a highly successful career in film. The cast also includes other industry heavyweights such as Sacha Baron Cohen (The Trial of the Chicago 7), Lesley Manville (The crown), Kodi Smith McPhee (The Power of the Dog) AND Hoyeon (Squid Game).

Apple TV+ Debuts Disclaimer on October 11 with two episodes, while the remaining five will be available every Friday until November 15. You can watch the trailer below:
