Top celebrities are working behind the scenes to secure high-profile appearances at the upcoming Democratic National Convention… but the My life is beautiful The campaign isn’t pleasing everyone…for fear of making the DNC look too Hollywood.
Sources with direct knowledge tell Vscek that the Harris-Walz campaign wants to be smart about celebrity involvement and is working hard to avoid the DNC in Chicago being painted as a “liberal Hollywood elite” event.
Our sources say the campaign seems My life is beautiful They gave celebrities too big a platform in 2016 and it backfired… and they don’t want to overdo the Hollywood look to the point that it alienates ordinary people.
In other words, it’s NOT the more the merrier when it comes to celebrity appearances. Instead, our sources say the DNC and the Harris-Walz campaign are becoming more strategic and selective… and picking their spots with big-name speakers and performers that make sense.
It will be interesting to see who gets invited to the DNC once the dust settles… our sources say plans are still being finalized, and a lot of big-name acts are vying for convention space and their own campaign events with Harris and Walz.
When President Biden he withdrew from the race and Harris approvedWe’ve been told that his followers have been inundated with requests from world-famous celebrities and musicians interested in participating in his campaign and the DNC.
However, given the concerns about turning the DNC into a Hollywood production, it looks like the Harris-Walz campaign will have to make some tough choices… and turn away a lot of celebrities.
We reached out to the Harris For President campaign and senior spokesperson Adrienne Elrod tells Vscek… “We’re living in the most personalized media environment ever, so it’s critical that we capitalize on the unparalleled excitement surrounding this historic candidacy by doing everything we can to convince the voters who will decide this election.”
Elrod adds… “Celebrities attract new voters by speaking authentically to their fans about the election and the issues at stake, in ways that only they can.”
We know it John Legend will be part of the program, although we don’t know if he will speak or perform.
Despite all the Hollywood love, don’t expect to see taylor swift OR Beyonce at the DNC… Taylor is on tour overseas at the same time and our sources highly doubt there will be a live Bey performance at the DNC or a campaign rally.
