Olympic boxer Imane Khelif She’s had enough of the bullying related to her gender, and now her lawyer is ready to kick her ass.
His lawyer has filed a complaint with Paris prosecutors, claiming that the Algerian boxer is the victim of aggravated cyber harassment. The lawyer calls the attacks “misogynistic, racist and sexist.”
The Algerian athlete took home the gold in the women’s welterweight division on Friday … after facing controversy earlier in the competition when questions about her gender surfaced online.
The gold medalist had to face a lot of backlash for an alleged failed gender test conducted at the 2023 International Boxing Association competition. The International Olympic Committee begged to differ and says Khelif met all standards to compete.
The complaint does not specify who is responsible… although many people, including celebrities such as Elon Musk and others, have he trolled her onlineThe decision whether or not to open an investigation is now up to the prosecutor’s office.
The IOC supported Imane, denouncing the bullies.
If anyone is charged, they face up to 5 years in prison.
