Snoop Dogg just updated her Olympic resume with another role: performing in the closing ceremony.
After stealing the show day after day in Paris during the 2024 Olympics, the rapper, who has been working as NBC’s Olympics special correspondent, returned to his native California to help bring the Games to Los Angeles for 2028 on August 11. The handover, which began with HIS performing the national anthem, he saw Simone Biles and Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Low take up the Olympic flag. Just for Tom’s Cruise to leap into the Stade de France, grab the flag and wave it all the way to Hollywood.
After the exciting performances of Red hot peppers AND Billie Eilish On the sunny Venice Beach stage, Snoop kicked off his two-song, boardwalk-lined set with one of his biggest hits, “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
Then, as Snoop made his way through the crowd, a special guest took the stage: Dr. Dre. To close out the handover portion of the ceremony, the longtime collaborators performed “The Next Episode,” a fitting tune to welcome the Olympics to Los Angeles.
