Angel Salazar — famous for playing Al-PacinoChi Chi’s trusty sidekick in Scarface was filming a standalone spinoff of the iconic gangster flick when he died… and we got our first look at him in action.
Director Eric Spade Rivas tells Vscek… Ángel looked tired when he filmed scenes in New Jersey in April, but was still preparing to film more scenes later this year in Miami.

The movie is called “The Brooklyn Premiere” … and it also features Stephen Bauerwho plays Manny Ribera in the first “Scarface.” The film is about a Brooklyn filmmaker who is having a midlife crisis and decides to make a comedy parody of “Scarface” to revive his career.

Vscek obtained a couple of clips showing Ángel with Steven.
Eric says he has known Ángel for 12 years and that he will go ahead with the film… because that’s what Ángel would have wanted.
Vscek broke the news… 69 years old Angel died in his sleep over the weekend at his friend’s house in Brooklyn, which happens to be where the film is set.
Eric tells us that Ángel was one of the funniest people he has ever met… and he is lucky to have worked with Salazar.
