Onyx Storm has many questions to answer after Iron flamethe explosive ending, but I hope the next one Fourth Wing the sequel also solves the most ridiculous Empyrean Series plot twistby Rebecca Yarros Empyrean Series is no stranger to revealing big things, from Violet’s brother being alive in Xaden becoming a venin. Most of these make sense in the context of the story, and that makes them satisfying when they finally unfold. However, not all of the major developments in Fourth Wing AND Iron flame It feels earned, which is frustrating.

Onyx Storm has the opportunity to fill in the gaps of Yarros’s less developed revelationsand there is one in particular that I hope you will address. Of the many surprises in Iron flame, Jack Barlowe’s twist in the book seems the most ridiculous. Maybe Yarros has a good reason for bringing Violet’s nemesis back into the fold, but I’m still not sold on this development. I hope Onyx Storm changes everything by giving meaning to Jack’s unexpected and unwanted return.

Despite the many newcomers, there are some established supporting characters from the Fourth Wing that audiences would like to see more of in the next book, Onyx Storm.

Iron Flame’s Jack Barlowe plot twist was the most ridiculous in the Empyrean series

Violet killing Jack is one of the most satisfying moments in Fourth Wing, since most of the first one passes Empyrean book avoiding confrontation rather than defending herself. When Violet leaps to Liam’s defense, it’s a powerful moment for her character. Unfortunatelythe impact of this scene is substantially nullified when Iron flame brings Jack back from the deadKeeping Jack alive – and revealing that he’s a venin – seems like an odd choice for the Fourth Wing sequel. It is not adequately alluded to before it happens, and its implications are not fully explored.

The fact that Fourth Wing brings back to life a seemingly dead character, which makes this Jack twist a bit repetitive. The end of Fourth Wing reveals that Violet’s brother, Brennan, is still alive despite all signs pointing to the contrary. With Iron flame containing a twist like that, you start to think that the stakes in Yarros’ world aren’t as high as they say. Sure, a lot of people die in the romance series, but too many of the important ones come back. I hope Onyx Storm can solve some of the problems with this Jack twist.

How Onyx Storm Can Solve Jack Barlowe’s Problem

Iron Flame sequel may make sense of his return

With so many issues surrounding Jack Barlowe’s return, I’m not entirely convinced about this Empyrean Series torsion. However, Onyx Storm can change this by giving Jack a more prominent role in his story. While Iron flame reveals that Jack is alive and coming, he doesn’t focus on this for long. If Onyx Flame delves deeper into Jack’s character, it could make sense of why Yarros brought him back. This will also allow the sequel to give a proper explanation for Jack’s current state. Iron flame attempts, but the lore behind this Jack twist would need further exploration.

Jack may have a chance to redeem himself by helping Xaden in
Onyx Storm.

Onyx Storm may also give Jack’s return more meaning by having him interact with Xaden. Now that Xaden is venin, he will no doubt face challenges adjusting to his new form. Jack is the only person Violet and Xaden know who has gone through something similar. Needless to say, Jack may have a chance at redemption by helping Xaden in Onyx Storm. This would at least justify Iron flame bringing it backeven if I’m not thrilled with the execution.

TV Show The Fourth Wing Could Do The Jack Barlowe Twist Even Better

Amazon’s Upcoming Adaptation Could Reveal More Clues

Onyx Storm can solve The Empyrean Series Jack Barlowe twist after the fact, but Coming soon to Amazon Fourth Wing A TV show can improve it overall. With the authors knowing what’s coming, they can drop more hints before Jack even reveals his presence. While the Yarros books do include a few hints that this is coming, they’re not that obvious. This makes it seem like he came out of nowhere, but Amazon’s adaptation can ensure that’s not the case.

Additionally, TV shows often allow for more character development, as they can shift perspective and focus on supporting players more easily than books can. By giving us scenes from Jack’s point of view and showing more of his character, the Amazon series can establish his importance from the jump. This will make his return more reasonable, as he will have a clearer purpose in the story. Book readers will have to wait until Onyx Storm to determine what that purpose is, but it’s probably safe to assume that it is somehow connected to Xaden.
