Credence Clearwater Revival drummer’s son doesn’t feel like a “lucky son”… police are calling him a person of interest in a murder and a woman’s disappearance… Vscek has confirmed.
Dr. Brent Clifford — son of the band’s historic drummer, Doug Clifford — was arrested around 4 p.m. Wednesday in Portola, California, according to a statement released by the Reno Police Department.
Authorities say they took Brent into custody on an active arrest warrant in connection with the murder of William Andrews — a man found dead by police last Sunday.
Police say Brent stole Andrews’ 2003 Chevy Blazer and was still using it when they arrested him yesterday.
Meanwhile, police are also looking at Clifford as a person of interest in a different case: the disappearance of his girlfriend. Patricia Portella Wright, disappeared earlier this month.
Police say a body was found Thursday that they believe belongs to Portella-Wright, but they have not yet confirmed whether it is her.
Brent is one of Doug Clifford’s 3 sons… born in late 1968, just before CCR exploded into the mainstream. While police have not confirmed that Brent is Doug’s son, we have seen public records that indicate he is.
We also reached out to Doug’s rep…no response so far.
