LIV Golf Greenbrier: Jon Rahm leads Brooks Koepka by two shots as Spaniard seeks second straight title | Golf News

Jon Rahm leads the LIV Golf Greenbrier Championship by two shots over Brooks Koepka and three more heading into Sunday’s final round.

Rahm closed out an eight-under-par round of 62 with an eagle, birdie, birdie, giving the Spaniard a lead over five-time Major winner Koepka, as well as Talor Gooch, Richard Bland and Lucas Herbert.

Koepka and Gooch are both members of Smash GC, which is one shot behind Ripper GC, represented by Herbert, in the team standings after two rounds on the Old White course in West Virginia.

Cameron Smith, also of Ripper GC, remains in contention as an individual after a round of 63 saw the Australian just three shots off the leader. In fact, nine players are separated by three shots heading into the final round at the Greenbrier.

Rahm is coming off the Olympic disappointment in Paris, when he went from a four-shot lead to not even getting on the podium.

The two-time Major winner teed off on the second hole with a shotgun, making an eagle on the par-five 17th, a birdie on the 18th and being the first across the finish line.

After going the entire season without a win, Rahm is now aiming for his second consecutive LIV Golf title on Sunday.

Bryson DeChambeau, who shot a final-round 58 to win the event last year, trails Rahm by seven shots heading into the final round.
