Czech Masters: David Ravetto claims first DP World Tour win with stunning final-round 64 | Golf News

David Ravetto earned his first DP World Tour victory with a stunning final-round 64, while his nearest challenger, Jesper Svensson, exited on the 16th hole of the D+D REAL Czech Masters.

Ravetto, 27, set a blistering pace with six birdies on the first nine holes Sunday in Prague, turning a one-shot deficit over Svensson last night into a three-shot margin of victory.

Svensson came back with a birdie on the 10th hole and was just one shot behind when Ravetto bogeyed the 12th, with both players securing birdies on the 13th and 15th before the key moment arrived.

For the second day in a row, Svensson struggled on the 16th hole but, unlike his surprising save on Saturday, when he hit a three-wood 311 yards from the fairway into the heart of the green, this time it took him four shots to reach the green and then made a third putt.

Frenchman Ravetto produced a surprising final round

Ravetto placed the ball near the green and set up birdie, moving to -23 under par and gaining a four-shot lead that he never relinquished.

He said: “I felt good all week, we had a strategy to go and have fun and it worked well. Of course, I had a bit of pressure, my hands were shaking, but that’s what you train for.

“Walking down the 18th after driving down the middle of the fairway was an incredible feeling, I almost gave in and started crying on the fairway. When I saw my caddy and my girlfriend I couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“I’m sure we’ll celebrate big – French guys, we know how to do it! There’ll probably be something in Prague tonight and maybe next week in Paris.”

Scotsman Richie Ramsay joined Ravetto’s compatriots Adrien Saddier and Frederic Lacroix in a tie for third at 18-under par.

The English trio of Brandon Robinson Thompson, Alex Fitzpatrick and Paul Waring shared sixth place at 16 under, alongside Austrian Bernd Wiesberger.
