John Aprea, Star of The Godfather Part II, Dead at 83

The acting community has lost one of its members.

John Apreawho played a younger version of Salvatore Tessio in the 1974 film The Godfather – Part IIHe died. He was 83 years old.

His manager It will be Levine said the actor died on August 5 of natural causes in Los Angeles, Hollywood Journalist he said on August 18.

Aprea was born in New Jersey in 1941 to Italian immigrants. The family lived in Italy for several years when he was a child before returning to the United States. Aprea began his acting career in the 1960s in New York and later moved to Los Angeles, where he made his screen debut in 1968. Steve McQueen movie Bullitt.

He had small parts mainly on TV before getting his breakthrough role in The Godfather – Part II.

During his career he also acted in films such as The Manchurian Candidate AND The game and numerous TV shows, including the hit family sitcom Sold outin which he played the father of John Stamos‘ character Jesse Katsopolis, or Uncle Jesse. Aprea reprised the part in the Netflix sequel series Full house in 2017.
