Barnsley 1-2 Mansfield

Mansfield scored two early goals to set up a 2-1 win over Barnsley to kick-start their League One title-winning campaign.

Stephen Quinn and Lee Gregory scored inside the first 18 minutes for the promoted Stags and it was enough for the points, despite Luca Connell pulling one back for the hosts at Oakwell.

The tie was broken in the 13th minute when Quinn fired a left-footed shot from outside the area into the top right corner.

Tykes substitute Jon Russell also came close to scoring five minutes after half-time, heading in Corey O’Keeffe’s pass on goal, but his shot was blocked.

Barnsley failed to build on their dominant second-half display and squandered another chance seven minutes from time when Sam Cosgrove volleyed over from the edge of the penalty area.
