Beau Greaves: Darts star wins 24th PDC Women’s Series title in Niedernhausen, Germany | Darts News

Beau Greaves won her 24th PDC Women’s Series title in Niedernhausen, Germany, but failed to complete the series cleanly as Aileen de Graaf then took her first win in the event

Greaves, who recently won the Women’s World Matchplay title in Blackpool, reached the final of the Series 13 tournament on Saturday afternoon, where she beat Dutch player Noa-Lynn van Leuven 5-1.

The Doncaster star, however, failed to win in the second event of Series 14, when she was beaten 4-3 in the last 16 by De Graaf, who then defeated compatriot Anca Zijlstra 5-2 in an all-Dutch final to secure her first triumph in the series.

Greaves, nicknamed “Beau ‘n’ Arrow”, made it three straight wins to reach the last eight, eliminating Fiona Roberts, Priscilla Steenbergen and Kelly Streef before sweeping aside Daniela Schug 5-2 in the quarter-finals.

She continued the run with a thumping 5-1 victory over Natalie Gilbert in the last four, before posting a stunning 148 checkout to wrap up victory over Van Leuven by the same scoreline.

Van Leuven also impressed in reaching her third Women’s Series final of 2024, averaging 90 and 92 in victories over Kim Holden and Aurora Fochesato.

The Dutch star then overturned a 4-2 deficit against Robyn Byrne in the round of 16, and won four consecutive matches from 4-1 down to eliminate De Graaf in the semi-finals.

However, De Graaf got revenge for that result, claiming her first PDC title in Event 14, sealing it with a hard-fought 5-2 victory over Anca Zijlstra.

De Graaf, the 2022 Women’s World Matchplay runner-up, had lost all five of her previous Women’s Series finals but ultimately prevailed to become the seventh different winner on the tour in 2024.

Greaves successfully retained her Women’s World Matchplay title with a 6-3 victory over Fallon Sherrock

After convincing victories over Sandy Wolf, Laura Patton and Tanja Klueners, De Graaf survived the darts matches in the last 16, thwarting Greaves’ bid for a back-to-back title.

The 34-year-old then won 5-2 against Van Leuven in the quarter-finals, before beating four-time Lakeside women’s champion Lisa Ashton in a heavyweight semi-final.

Zijlstra eliminated two-time Lakeside women’s champion Mikuru Suzuki and former world No. 1 Lorraine Winstanley on her way to the final of Event 14, only to fall to her compatriot.
