McDowell Mind is facing serious charges.
The actor, who starred in Davide plays the man on OWN and has appeared in Billions— has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting in Houston on July 20, authorities confirmed.
According to an August 3 update from the Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez“Homicide investigators have charged Akili McDowell (21) with murder in the shooting death of Caesar Peralta (20). McDowell was recently taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail.”
Gonzalez confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact the department.
As Gonzalez previously shared, Harris County sheriffs responded to an incident in an apartment building parking lot on August 20, where an adult male had “sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.” The statement also noted that the suspects fled the scene.
It has not yet been confirmed how McDowell was identified as a suspect and arrested.
