Juliana Hough he doesn’t idolize his past relationships.
THE Dancing with the Stars the host recently reflected on dating Ryan Seacrest from 2010 to 2013, explaining that one of the reasons for their breakup was because Julianne wanted to build a career outside of the relationship.
“I remember when I decided to end the relationship,” she said. Dax Shepard on his podcast Armchair Expert August 12, “There were a lot of these Brentwood moms and producers in that world who were like, ‘What are you doing?’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ And they were like, ‘Your life is completely sorted out.'”
But as the 36-year-old explained, she didn’t feel like she had built that life for herself.
“Of course, I was like, ‘I have to create this,'” he continued. “Competitively, it’s not mine. I have to feel proud of doing it.'”
And Julianne was also afraid that those observing the relationship might think she was using the American Idol host for one’s own gain.
“I had this insecurity,” she said, “where I was like, ‘I don’t want anyone to think that I’m with him for this reason.’ And so I started playing with fewer characters.”
