Park Hyatt to Come to Sky-High Location in Malaysia Next Year
A Park Hyatt is being planned in the Malaysian capital, which will occupy the top floors of the tallest building in Southeast Asia.
Set to debut in spring 2025, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is expected to open atop Merdeka 118, a 2,227-foot tower that opened earlier this year. Details on the ultraluxury hotel are scarce (at least directly from Hyatt), but events platform Cvent says it will feature more than 250 guest rooms, as well as a spa and meeting space.
Park Hyatt’s Instagram page says the spa will feature “exclusive treatments, indigenous techniques and products, and local art and design.” Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s website features renderings of an indoor pool with unobstructed views of the surrounding city. Splish and dip in the sky is never a bad idea, we say.
Guests will also be able to enjoy the lounge, bar and restaurant (in addition to Park Hyatt’s core offerings such as the Living Room and Dining Room concepts). Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s upcoming culinary program will be overseen by Executive Chef Stig Drageide and Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh, according to The Malaysian Reserve.
World of Hyatt points rates aren’t available yet, but I, a known Catherine Zeta-Jones fan, can’t wait to sign up. Zeta-Jones starred in “Entrapment,” a crime thriller that used the nearby Petronas Towers, Malaysia’s tallest buildings until 2019, as a key plot point and backdrop.
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will almost certainly be a more luxurious and sensational experience than the bank robbery depicted in “Entrapment” (the only criminal thing here is perhaps the moment when you have to check out and go home).
