Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after a fight with his bodyguard, according to French authorities.
The 33-year-old US star is alleged to have attacked a security guard who attempted to separate the two men at the five-star George V hotel on Friday morning.
French prosecutors told Reuters and AFP news agencies that they had opened a criminal investigation into “unspecified violence” against the guard.
A representative for Mr Scott told BBC Newsbeat: “We are in direct contact with the local Paris authorities to resolve this matter quickly and will provide updates as appropriate.”
On Thursday night, Mr. Scott, real name Jacques Bermon Webster, was photographed at the U.S. Olympic basketball game against Serbia.
He was photographed alongside American entrepreneur Michael Rubin and fellow rapper Quavo, former frontman of the hip-hop group Migos.
Earlier this year Mr. Scott was Arrested in Miami in relation to a discussion about a private yacht.
Entertainment news site TMZ reported that Prosecutors dropped the drunken disorderly charge against him, but he still has to answer for violation of private property.
Mr. Scott is a 10-time Grammy Award nominee and one of the biggest hip-hop artists in the world.
He was previously in a relationship with Kylie Jenner and the couple had two children.
In 2021, 10 fans died in a crowd surge at Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston, Texas.
He didn’t do it They face criminal charges over their deaths but is still embroiled in civil lawsuits that allege the organizers were at fault.
