The two doctors accused in relation to Matthew PerryNot only do they still have medical licenses, they can still — SURPRISINGLY — prescribe drugs to all of their patients, Vscek has learned.
Last week, Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia were charged with conspiring to unlawfully supply ketamine to the late “Friends” star.
Vscek then broke the news… the California State Medical Board has launched an investigation into both doctors, but they kept their medical licenses active without disciplining them.
Now, we’ve learned that the state medical board has not placed ANY restrictions on doctors’ licenses, which means they can prescribe serious drugs to anyone, just as they were accused of doing in the Perry case, and still practice.
The Council has given us this official statement… “Both licenses are valid and active and the Council has not placed any restrictions on them.”
Speaking about the Perry case, Dr. Chavez has already reach an agreement with the prosecutorspleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
Investigators say Chavez admitted to selling the drug to Dr. Plasencia after obtaining ketamine through fake prescriptions.
Plasencia would often inject Matthew with massive doses of ketamine… even administering the drug at Perry’s home. According to court documents, Plasencia referred to Perry as an “idiot” in a text message to Chavez, while questioning how much the actor would pay for the ketamine.
Plasencia is charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine, distribution of ketamine resulting in death, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and tampering with and falsifying documents relating to a federal investigation. He has pleaded not guilty.
